Tyneside Young Lesbian Project Monday Night 6-8 @ West End Women and Girls Centre A group for 13-19 year old women who think they may be or identify as lesbian or bisexual. The group acts as a source of support and offers a space where its members can socialise in a safe environment and talk in confidence about their sexual orientation and related issues. The group combines issue based educational session with social activities and outings All new members can be met on a 1-2-1 basis before attending the group to ensure the group will meet their needs appropriately .The group accepts both self referrals and referrals from professionals. To make a referral please ring or text one of our group workers on 07507702878 or alternatively you can leave your details at the West End Women and Girls Centre on 0191 273 4942

Time: 9:30 am

Currently meets Tuesday mornings 9.30-11.30am Come along to this relaxed and informal session and learn all about growing your own healthy organic fruit & vegetables and flowers in our community garden in Elswick Park. This is a great opportunity to develop your gardening skills as well as feeling healthier working in the great outdoors! There are also opportunities to get involved with Edible Elswick events on local estates and in the park. The food we grow is used in our Cookery sessions for healthy recipes. All sessions are relaxed, informal and very welcoming. Come along to meet other women in your community, learn new skills, build your confidence and make new friends. Our timetable does change, especially during school holidays so please see the latest timetable for further information.

Time: 6:00 pm

Tuesday club is a session run on a Tuesday from 6-8 and is for girls aged from 5-11 years. The session includes lots of different activities including girls sharing good news at the beginning of session, lots of varied amount of fun games, arts and crafts, drama based sessions and lots more. Girls are also encouraged to attend the session in the summer which runs from 10-4. Which includes days out to the museums, the beach, picnic in the park, cooking, dancing and lots more. Tuesday club is a popular session and on average can get around 25-30 girls a session, to be able to run these large sessions, volunteers are needed throughout the summer and on normal sessions on an evening. If anyone would like to volunteer for the Tuesday club don’t hesitate to ask and to get involved we would very much appreciate it.

Wednesday mornings 9.00-11.00 (crèche available) Come along to our One Stop Shop for a healthy brunch, cup of tea and a natter! Get information about getting back into work or education; what courses are available in the area; health & lifestyle advice; help with form filling & benefits advice; volunteering opportunities etc. All sessions are relaxed, informal and very welcoming. All women over the age of 16 are welcome. Come along to meet other women in your community, build your confidence and make new friends. Our timetable does change, especially during school holidays so please see the latest timetable for further information.

Time: 11:00 am

Wednesday mornings 11.00-12.00 (no crèche but children welcome) Stay on after the brunch to learn & improve your knitting skills. Learn how to read patterns and create clothes for yourself and family!
