Mrs. Margaret Robinson

Thursday, November 17th, 2016
We are sad to say Mrs. Robinson passed away peacefully at home with her family around her on Saturday 12th November after a short illness.
As a mark of respect the centre will be closed on Tuesday the 22nd November as we attend her funeral at the West Road crematorium at 11:45. We will return to the centre, to her hall to celebrate her life from 12:30 onward.
All are welcome to come and pay their respects.
Mrs. Robinson was at the centre of West End Women and Girls, attending the club (as she called it) for 35 years, since we first started in Elswick pool in 1981. She brought her daughters Angie and Donna, who brought their daughters, her neighbours, friends and family. 4 Generations of Mrs. Robinson’s family come to the Girls club. She was our longest standing member and biggest supporter, Which is why after the building was re-furbished 10 years ago, We named the big hall in her honour,
The Mrs. Margaret Robinson Hall.
A Matriarch is a women who is the head of a tribe and Mrs. Robinson was ours and we were hers.
